Now the M's are using "dynamic pricing". Not sure what I think of this idea. The prices of tickets will change depending on demand. Basically the same as the travel industry (trains, planes, hotels, rental cars).
This year, Hale said, 20 out of 30 teams will be using dynamic pricing in some fashion. The Mariners are one of seven clubs that will use it on all tickets, including those purchased online, by phone and in person at the ballpark.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a ticket then, except for bobblehead nights.

I like it. Makes sense if you really think about it. Though it probably won't affect me at all.

Similar, I probably won't be too affected by it but I feel this will give scalpers a huge advantage since they can say "well, ticket prices right now are way higher than this one". Before I could know the exact price of a game day ticket to get an idea how much I should have to pay.

I wonder if this makes some not want to buy season tickets now though, because they might think they can save money by getting these dynamic prices all year if the team goes into the crapper (like everyone expects).

The way I look at it, I can go get bleacher tickets for the April 17-19 series against the Indians, the September 17-19 series against the Orioles, and the October 1-3 series against the Angels for $5. Half of me wants to pounce on some of those now, considering you won't find a better price.
Knowing that I can go to certain games for that price appeals to me, even if it means some of the other marquee games get more expensive.

TITTDA, if I order these online I obviously get ripped heavily by ticketmaster fees. If I wanted to pay $5 with no strings attached, do you just go to a teamstore? P.S. How did you find those prices so fast?
I've never understood why people pay through ticketmaster, but I am a cheapskate.

Just have to toggle through. And, I do believe you just have to go to a team store to skip the fees.

Man I wish they'd lower the price of the All-Star Club. It's a really fun experience, but the price is way too high. Looks like this is a sneaky way of raising the prices on most games, and lowering them on games that they wouldn't possibly sell many seats on.

Taking advantage of supply and demand to maximize profit. Economics 101 :)
