My guess is Millwood wins it based on experience alone, but I was really impressed with Ramirez last night. Kid was dealing strikes consistently with a fastball at 93-94...also had a nice curve ball. I think Millwood may begin the year as #5, but Ramirez will eventually take over.

I'm not sure this is right question. If we assume that Felix, Vargas, and Iwakuma have spots, the real question is, out of the two spots, who out of Millwood, Beaven, Ramirez, and Noesi gets the spots, and for now I'd be inclined to think it's Millwood and Noesi.

And I could see us trading Vargas to open another spot for another young starting pitcher.

With Beaven, Ramirez and Noesi all young almost ML ready arms and with the 3 young arms in the minors, we have some serious SP depth.

I figured Beaven would be a lock after the way he pitched at the end of last year and through this spring.

I see Beaven in Tacoma, not because of his performance, but because of the lack of rotation spots, and who we have.

Fair enough. Though he does have more experience than Noesi and Ramirez.

My take:

Felix
Vargas
Iwakuma
Beavan
Noesi

Ramirez will make the big club, but start the year off in Tacoma.

Noesi with four innings of two run ball today before it was cancelled due to rain.
