There's no way I'm going to be awake after midnight tonight... I've been up for 19 hours... Getting a liiiiiitle loopy. I'd just like to say that Bartolo Colon is the ugliest pitcher ever, and his last name when pronounced phonetically is the part of the human digestive system that makes turds solid. When pronounced the way he pronounces it, it is something guys who tuck their tank tops into tear away Adidas track pants splash on themselves before they go drink Jager Bombs at Club X on 1st Ave. So, take that Bartolo...
I'd like to wake up tomorrow to find out that either or both of Smoak & Montero got an extra base hit. Like to see a little pop from the middle of the order. McCarthy is tough with that sinker and all those ground balls, let's knock the hell out of Bartolo. I don't mean this to be TOO offensive, but doesn't he look just the slightest bit retarded to you? You know who he looks like? Muammar Gaddafi.
See?

I would really like to see something from Smoak as well at least with Montero he is a rookie and trying to adjust Smoak doesn't have that anymore this is his 3rd season with us he needs to show some progress.

If we can't score at least three off Colon I'll be worried.
Felix = Cy Young

I forgot just how fat Colon is

this is rather sad

Colon has thrown freaking 34 pitches through four innings.

A little better in the top of the 5th, but still a goose egg for both teams so far.

I didn't think it was possible to get worse on offense, but when you're getting steamrolled by Bartolo Colon it's time to worry

YEA! About time!

Smoak solo tater! 1-0 M's in the 7th.
Felix = Cy Young

That was good to see. Smoak finally using his oppo power.

Oh man, our bullpen scares me

The one guy that can do damage for the A's damn it

And for good reason. Two-run laser of a home run by Cespedes makes it 2-1 A's in the bottom of the 7th.
Felix = Cy Young
03-29-2012, 03:55 AM
That hurts

Why did Wedge take Vargas out at 85 pitches?

Don't know, but this bullpen is absolute garbage. Each reliever has given up a homer.
4-1 A's.

Athletics win it 4-1. Putrid offense from the Mariners against a washed up pitcher that threw nothing but primarily fastballs and a few changeups. Only positives were Smoak and Vargas.
Back to spring training for the next week.

Looks like our guys were sleep walking out there today. Guess they were happy with just winning the first game.

Offense looks like the last 3 years. Figgins doing what he always does. I think that Vargas "extra" turn really is helping him. I don't think it's a myth.

I recorded it and told myself I would avoide all Mariners websites, Facebook and ESPN RAdio for the entire day so I could watch it tonight. Then, first thing I do when I wake up is check the score on my phone.
Is this thing worth watching despite the fact that I know the result? Upon glancing at the box score, my guess is no.

No. Not if you want to avoid being mired in depression.

worthless game, except a smoke home run and good vargas pitching.

I fell asleep at around 11 and left the TV on Root sports. I woke up, and it was the 7th inning.
I have no friggin idea why Wedge pulled Vargas, Cespedes really did us in that game.
Bummer we didn't start 2-0, but hopefully we can finish the series on top when we resume it in Oakland.
