Montero trade is looking pretty good right about now.

I hate to see that for Pineda

I feel for Michael, I really do. And I'm not one of those people who evaluate how good a trade was by how it worked on both ends, just our own.
But you still can't help but see Z seizing an opportunity to sell high, and thus far doing a fantastic job with this deal.

I'd be a lot less secretly happy about it if it weren't the Yankees. If it's possible to wish Pineda the best at every non-Mariners start while also rooting for every team that plays the Yankees, I would, but at some point I'm just going to have to move on and accept the fact that he's a Yankee and that he's now the enemy. Honestly, I'll have a much tougher time with David Aardsma who I really will be rooting for regardless of who he's pitching for.
And, DA is correct. Nobody could have predicted that Pineda's velocity would be down, he'd show up at camp overweight, and develop tendinitis, but he did and he would have likely done the same in Peoria if he weren't traded. Jack rolled the dice and this could turn out to be a great deal for this team. Young power pitchers are the riskiest prospects in baseball.

Pinedas a good kid but that's a tough start for him with that NY media always ready to pounce

That really sucks for Michael, but not our concern anymore, hate to say... I wish him the best though.

Yankees were silly for giving up one of their brightest prospects, especially a catcher right as Posada retired. Pineda will get healthy and have a great season.

As much as I liked Pineda I have no true problem with him I hope he fails just like I hope the rest of the Yankees do.

I didn't really like this deal at first but you gotta wonder if he is ever going to be able to stay healthy he has had elbow issues in the Minor's and had that inverted W pitching mechanics gotta wonder if Z knew something loving this trade now though after i thought it over.
