Yes, the news is right. The Mariners are going to sign Angel's Chone Figgins within the weekend. Shannon Drayer (http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=374&sid=251540)is already report that it's a done deal and various rumors also appear to make it a reasonable conclusion.
What are your thoughts? I'll give you mine. While I think signing Chone Figgins is a smart move and a great signing, I would much prefer to see the Mariners go after a pitcher on the market like Rich Harden. (http://www.lookoutlanding.com/2009/12/3/1184788/harden-bedard-and-explaining-myself)
Having a Felix/Harden/Snell/RRS combo really does sound nice. We all know that Harden will get injured sometime during the year, but why not give Luke French a shot if/when Rich Harden becomes inured?
Anyways, nice signing by the Mariners, I just really want to see Harden signed this year!!!
