Hey Sports Fans!
!Que Milagro! Miggy was playing some ball Sunday afternoon vs. the Sox. Couple of hits, a run, and a very sweet dash up the first base line for a ground snatch-and-lob to first for an out. Yep, swung .500 to lead the team in hitting. Brings his total batting average up to a little better than a buck and a half. lol. Really good to see Miggy showing some gumption.
I hear and read a butt-load of negatives about guys associated with the M's. Hey, you need a hug, I'll be here for ya'. I understand. Personally I was stunned to see Figgy in the starting lineup this season, and yes, I was bitchin' and moanin' all last year about him. I got to say it is refreshing to see Figgy picking it up some too.
What, ready to bury Wedge? Look at me. He's the best skip to manage the M's since Lou Piniella. I'll allow a few moments for spasms of hilarity, outrage, and various forms of knee-jerk reactions before tossing up this tidbit for consideration.
...Uh k, ready?
In the past ten years the best win/loss record the M's could muster was the '07 season under the split leadership of Mike Hargrove and John McLaren. Yeah, Bob Melvin put together 93 wins with a team he inherited from Sweet Lou before taking one of the best crews in baseball to the heights of mediocrity. Look in the dictionary under 'Standing Nap' and there's a picture of Bob Melvin. Lest I relapse to heights of negativity. This fan is convinced the Wedge is passionate about the game, loves this team, and will do everything in his power to prepare the Mariners for a trip to World Series. Maybe it'll happen, maybe it won't, but that's what he's about. Humm, 'Sweet Mike', I like that.
