1 1/3 innings tonight, no hits, two strikeouts to pick up his fourth save. It's his sixth straight outing where he hasn't given up a run. Over that stretch since the beginning of May, he's pitched 7 innings, given up four hits, NO WALKS, and struck out nine. Please, I can't look at League's stupid face anymore without falling into a fit of rage.

I think Stephen Pryor should be given a look he is over powering guys at the Triple A level and has shown to hit triple digits.

League is pretty decent against anyone not named the Indians. Must be a mental block with that team or something.

Keep Brandon in there til midseason, hope he turns things around. Trade him for whatever you can get come July, then promote Pryor. Let Wilhelmsen take over closing duties, while grooming Pryor as a potential closer for 2013. Capps is still a ways away, but I can see him and Pryor battling it out for starting closer in spring training of next year.

Igoe is right, as frustrating as it is we're not really playing for much this year regardless. We also have to remember than League had that 4 or 5 game meltdown last year and was great besides that. There's a bunch of teams that want closers and maybe we can rip someone off.

This I disagree with. This year, I would say it's hard to argue he's been decent. Last season, he walked 10 batters. This season, through May 17? 10 batters. Since 2009, his strikeout rate has steadily dropped, from 76, to 56 in 2010, and 45 last season. It's also worth noting that his WHIP is up, 1.44 compared to 1.08. Of course, this can all be attributed to small sample size, but that walk total is concerning to say the least. He hasn't been the same closer that he was after that May meltdown last year.

I agree. Walking more than you strike out is nowhere near closer territory. But we have to hope he can still find it.

He hasn't been able to get ahead of hitters with his fastball consistently, and when he does, he can't throw his splitter anywhere near the zone, and that's his swing and miss pitch.
