Good vibes are rolling through the M's fan base with Seattle as winners of 5 of their last 6, but in come the Angels for the two teams' first series of 2012.
Can we keep it up in this four-game set?

Hey Sports Fans!
As of now, the A's, M's, and Angels are all within two games of the cellar. This series is HUGE. It's a moment I see as defining the rest of the season. A split is unacceptable. The M's gotta' get'em down and not take their foot off of Angel neck. Lucky rolls and divine intervention aside, there is one bit of fortune that would definitely require assistance from the J's and the Yanks. That's a road trip to Texas May 28th with a shot at 1st in the AL West.

The answer would be a resounding NO.
14 K's against a pitcher that topped out at 90 and was 1-5 coming in. Pathetic approach all night long.

I agree. And the swings were horrible.

It was Pujols and Haren that beat us last night, only those two players!! Good old reliable way to jump start your season...play the Mariners. Good night! Damn. We need to pick up at least 2 of these games, but I'm not sure our rotation will survive.

Wedge hit the nail on the head after the game.
"He pitched a good ballgame, but we didn't make any adjustments,'' Wedge said. "I mean, he was doing the same thing in the ninth inning that he was doing in the first inning.
"That's the red flag. I mean, you've got to make an adjustment. You can't keep going up there and doing the same thing and expecting different results.''
All he was doing was throwing cut fastballs low and away off the plate.

He also threw sliders off the plate which our hitters were chasing like they always do.

Well the slider was really a cutter.

We better learn how to lay off the slider cause that's like all Santana will throw tonight.

Is that four blown saves already? Sad.
He could be .500 right now if we had a damn competent closer.

Another awful performance by League... good god. So fucking horrible to watch!! He gets paid to finish this shit up!! Arrrggghhh!! (Sorry for all the swearing! I'm getting more and more pissed off with this team!)
I hate being "so close", so often, it's draining!! Come on man!!!

The swearing after watching the Mariners is perfectly acceptable.

How long is Wedge gonna ride this out? League's gotta be pissing the locker room off, everyone working hard for the win and he can't get a single out before giving up the lead.

Hey Sports Fans!
The "Official" home page of the Seattle Mariners reported game two with the Angles as ending with a "Shaky" ninth inning. I'll stick my neck right out there and unofficially describe League's performance as an epic freakin' meltdown. Given the number of, um, 'shaky' League outings lately, Somethings gotta' give, right?
Do you think League's confidence is so ruined as to render him permanently ineffective? Do you think he'll ever close again? Think he's baked? Do you remember what happened to 'Every Day' Eddy Guardado?
I was going to close w/ a smiley face or a GO M's, but I ain't in the mood.

I don't think it has anything to do with his confidence he just sucks as a closer he has no quality pitches can't even get his fastball over for a strike for the most part will never have any confidence when he comes in to close.

I was watching the game at the bar with a friend who's an Angels fan, I'm sure you can fill in the rest.

He hasn't sucked as a closer the last two years.

I wound up really enjoying the level of discomfort I experienced regarding the Rainiers throwback uniforms in game three vs. the Angels. We're playing a red team, but we're a blue team clad in red, and hey, I actuality got confused a couple of times as to who's team was who's; 'sort of went tilt for a second. Wuh? At one point the color change seemed to suggest we were kickin' our own butts. Was this highly geeky illusion born of psychosis or fever dream? This added a whole new and unexpected dimension to the experience of loosing the likes of which I was unprepared to deal with. Visceral spasms of resistance imploded as it occurred to just go with it - just embrace the pain. If spirituality and the sciences have taught us anything it is that there is more than one reality. And maybe, just maybe the Seattle Mariners baseball experience could provide an opportunity for intense personal growth. Perhaps nirvana is within reach but awaits beyond the other side of a righteous ass woopin?! HOLY VEGAS! CALL AUNT SHIRLEY! That's it! The secret of the enlightenment 'IS' as given to us by Our Sorrowful Mother of the Immaculate Strikeout. A sort of, 'Zen and the art of gettin' the livin' shit kicked out of ya', kind of deal. I never could of imagined liberty, grace, and pure joy so easily obtainable by merely hitting myself in the face with a baseball bat and just kind of grooving with it. Ah, relax. So elegantly simple yet so elusive to the smattering of crybabies adrift amidst a sea of fandom for which I WAS ONE! Hallelujah, this moment I am grateful, this moment I am free. Breath. Accept the ego. Chant Sodo Mojo and go with the pain. Whew. Yikes. ..I can do this thing. Ten minutes till game four.

He has had a few good years but for the most part he has been mediocre to terrible.
