Not ideal by any means, but better than #2 where he would be a double play machine. Clearly they're not allowed to move him down to the bottom third of the order. So, if they can't hit him 6-9, then I guess back to the top spot... sigh.

Terrible and i bet this came from up above i bet Wedge really wants Ichiro in the 6th-9 hole instead of #1 because he explained that in a lead off hitter he wants a guy who takes pitches and that is not Ichiro he is a hitter but even there he is declining he has a OBP of .305.

I know Ackley is struggling and he might very well be moved to the 3 or 2 hole eventually if he shows more power but i would much rather see him have as many bats as he can and he is willing to take balls.

I'd like to see him in the seven hole. Is it wrong that I hope Ichiro keeps sucking so he eventually gets moved down there?

Not at all. I wish he was there already.

Not as wrong as it is for me to hope that he keeps sucking so that he is not re-signed. I'd rather have him hit leadoff the rest of the way then sign an extension.

Don't you mean than instead of then? It totally changes the meaning of the sentence there. :)

Surely we don't want him to sign an extension after hitting leadoff all year with a .300 OBP.

Ha ha ha, yeah... You know, it's funny, I thought about that after I wrote it... "Than? Then?" I get confused sometimes. Same with "accept" and "except" on occasion. Good call. I do NOT want him to do both of those things.

Haha that's funny. Totally does change the meaning.

Reminds me of a funny pic I saw on the web: (not to bash you Igoe, just for laughs)

Hey Sports Fans!

Humm, yeah I never really understood batting order. Well order I get, but who leads off matters? After the first guy it just goes around and around, right? I uh uh. Explain it to me like I'm a six year old.
