Read behind a subscriber wall that the Mariners have contacted the Phillies about Pence*

DO IT.

*and KC about Billy Butler, and the Astros about Wandy Rodriguez, and the Cubs about Starlin Castro, and the Padres about Chase Headley, and they have been liked to Hanley Ramirez (although, that seems speculative).

The big picture here is that they are looking for offensive upgrades. AGGRESSIVELY.

As I've said before- I'm a Pence fan. He's on top of my wish list for available hitters, but I'd take ANYTHING at this point that is better than average, and doesn't cost too much. Pence could be perfect if we could sign him to an extension.

How about you guys?

Now clarknova, don't you know that Mariner trades ONLY happen when nobody knows what the fuck is coming? So since there are reports that the Mariners have contacted the Phillies, that means there's a .001% chance a deal for Pence is done.

Living in Houston, I am also a lifelong Astros fan. Following the Astros and Mariners has been frustrating recently.

That being said, Seattle fans would LOVE Pence. Good player, good teammate and good with he community. The Mariners need to make this happen if it is feasible.
