Hi everyone,
I'd like to introduce myself to this fan forum. I'm a french mariners fan since I first saw them playing in 2001 during an holiday trip. Didn't follow that much of the 2001 season so to this point didn't experience a lot of winning season. Anyway last evening shockwave, pushed me to register just because where I live, in France the fact that Ichiro is not a Mariner anymore (just as anything refering to baseball in general...) is totally ignored. Hard for me to share my feelings about this, my opinions even my thanks to this amazing athlete.
I needed something that big to feel I need to share about this Team I love. So here I come. It will be a pleasure to talk with you about our beloved team during good and times.
I'll try to be as active as possible on this forum.

Welcome to the site man! What part of France are you from? I have been to France and enjoyed it. I was in Nice and Aix En provence to be specific. Pretty part of the world, for sure.

I know those place but never been there myself. I'm from Orleans, about 120 km south from Paris. Not such a sunny place like those you've been haha

Nice! I didn't think there would be anyone in that part of the world that was really into baseball, never mind our team!
Though I can understand the lack of enthusiasm for baseball over there, not a lot of people care much for European Soccer over here (though there is a bar in Tacoma where they show English Premier League games pretty regularly).
Did you check out a game in Seattle or did you visit another city and see them as visitors in another city?

Well I enjoyed my father working in the US in 2001 and came in august 2001. My first game ever was on a TV and featured the Mariners I remembered Pineiro pitching. I've been in Phoenix, LA, San Franscico, Las Vegas, classic tourists place; no Seattle as I didn't attended a game neither. Gotta follow my beloved team on mlb TV.
Following baseball is pretty rare in France for sure, and I'm pretty proud we get a shot at the World Classic this year. Rooting for the Mariners well... nobody knows they even exists, nobody never heard about Ichiro ! Can't even find a New Era Cap of the M's, the only item related to baseball and sold in France (No surprise there are a lot of NY or LA logos here).

Nice, I didn't know France was being added to the World Classic. I hope some of the teams get more players from their actual countries. I remember seeing a lot of American ball players on team Italy, and a few American born players on team Mexico. I wish it happened more than every 3 or 4 (I can't remember which) years. I usually root for the USA, but I'd like to see another country other than Japan win it!
I see your father worked in the southwest, the only one of those cities I have been to myself is Las Vegas, which the strip is fun for two days, but gets old fast. And the rest of Vegas is pretty dirty!

France is just a guest for the 1st round of the world classic my regret is that they play in florida for those games... Won't get a chance to see them. As for them playing with american players... No chance as there are no such eligible player. As for Vegas we just stayed for one night and as you said it's good enough haha.

Ditto, for all the buffets, bright lights, and swanky hotels, Vegas is still one of my least favorite destinations in the U.S. LA and San Franscico are nice though. San Fran is like a little bigger Seattle minus the beautiful Mt. Rainier .

Would have been nice to visit Seattle during my last trip, seems a pretty nice place. Seaside, mountains. I'dlove to visit some day and of course attend a few games at the Safe or to see the seahawks.

Nice. Thank you for the sight. I followed the induction on mlb.com, following the game also as no blackout restriction for me :p
