Just between you, me, and a $9. beer, the M's are showing improvement. We owe the Jays one, and I see this series significant as a confidence builder/pretty much must win, in preparation for the upcoming road trip vs. the Yankees and the Orioles. These three series' are key to keeping the lid on during the month of August as it ain't gonna' get any easier on the return home stand.

It's gut-check time. Yeah, I posted earlier this season with regard to a certain four game set w/ the Angles that I felt was a defining preview the M's level of play and the immediate future, yada yada. We got totally cracked, hence defined, and now the Athletics and the Angles are in it. I uh uh, not to me master of the obvious or anything, but, I totally nailed it :-D

The short story is: The second half of the 2012 season is now.

I just fully support anything that resembles excitement for the Mariners. Right on bucky! I don't care if their wins came mostly against one of the only teams that is inferior to the Mariners, they're 8-2 in their last ten and have won 5 straight. If they win tonight and Atlanta loses they'll have the longest active winning streak in baseball. They're 21st in runs scored, and yeah, that may suck... but it's freaking progress! GO M'S!!

If they win tonight I will change my tune to "the mariners will win 17 straight, thus matching their horrible losing streak and counterbalancing its memory, and will also win the second wild card, on their way to the mariners first world series title"

I figure I got the ichiro deal right, why not go big?
