Tough streak we are in after such a good one... It seems that players and managers have not yet solve this inconsistency problem. The rollercoaster ride they promise us remains.

What I like about baseball is that on any game (or streak), two type of fans are battling : at my right the optimistic / at my left the pessimistic.
You can choose to focus on the defensive error your team (that is usually stellar) make some nights, you can complain about your ace (still in most AL top 5 categories for pitchers)... On the other side you can notice that, even in defeat, the offense is back after low scoring games, that after many efforts nobody is hitting bellow .200...

Just to say, of course losing streaks stinck just like winning streaks are cool. makes it a little spicier instead of a win after a lose after win...

As for myself I'm pretty optimistic as long as we are able to fight for a .500 second half, and I keep thinking (but not to loudly) that a .500 is still possible. It's possible if the last streak of the season is a winning one... :)

A baseball season is long, all I can see compare to the beginning of this season is that we are improving. Just make August and september be winning month...

The mariners need 1 or 2 bats that get the job done consitantly. If they get that they will be able to win ball games without this streaky gameplay.

Young teams are always inconsistent. It makes it frustrating to see our great potential when things are clicking right, but then when things are going bad, it gets downright ugly.

Do you think Seager, Montero and Carp can handle the job next season, as Smoak was supposed to this year just before we realise it may had put a lot of pressure on him ?

I mean I'd love, after those painfull seasons (but I believe necessary if you considere the rebuilding effort by consistenly inserting young players), to see those young players make it instead of buying FA big bats. Just because I still believe in the ... you know...the "it-was-tough-but-we-made-it-together" spirit

I sure hope so. I think Montero and Seager will be good hitters. The problem is Smoak and Ackley haven't panned out as expected so far. It's disappointing for sure, as Ackley, who's supposed to be the team's best contact hitter...leads the team in K's, and Smoak, well he's currently sitting in AAA batting a robust .222.

I agree with this but not sure if we will see it next year. My feeling is that Jack Z want to see how the big three arms pan out. Hoping next year isn't another "development" year but it may will be...

Could see a nice 1b bat like billy butler or of like justin upton being a nice add. Also anything will be better then millwood who, along with figgins has no reason being on a major league roster

It's funny how at the beginning of the year there was so much riding on Ackley and Smoak to carry the team, one has been a disappointment, and the other a complete dud. That's just baseball I guess. All things considered, with how frustrating it's been at times, 10 games below .500 isn't THAT bad. It's hard to keep things in perspective but I think that's one of the few ways to maintain sanity watching this team on regular basis.

I agree with you guys on Seager, Montero and Carp. I still have high hopes for Smoak and Ackley, I'm just not sure how much longer the team will hang on to that hope.
