Will the Mariners ever release Chone Figgins?

After the end of the season, cutting Figgins would be akin to when we ditched Milton Bradley and the $12 million he was owed for 2011. So yes, I don't think he's on the roster come Opening Day 2013.

Heard he was on the pregame during the Angels series talking about how he "missed winning" and "taking the field every day knowing you have a chance to win".
I hate you Donkey.

Placeholder. And also as close to a veteran presence as we have. Along with millwood and olivo the only way i cam rationalize keeping those guys here this year and next is that they add some value for getting the youngsters accustomed to the big leagues. At least thats what i tell myself...

His job is literally to sit on a bench and every 10 days or so, try to hit a ball with a stick, run, and catch a ball for a few hours.
He drives a Lamborghini. He makes about $6,000.00 an inning.
It would be one thing if he took ANY kind of personal responsibility for his performance, OR for how that performance has directly effected the team's chance to win. He doesn't. Instead, he physically attacks the manager for moving him down in the order when he's not hitting, and laments the fact that he's on a bad team right when the team has finally worked it's way up to "mediocre" and is actually performing.
He's a crappy person, a crappy player, and I don't give a rats ass if having him on the bench is not hurting the team. His face is hurting my life. The fact that he is still on the team is, in my humble opinion a failure by management.
...In case my feelings on Donkey were not clear.
