I really think Aardsma is going to get lit up this year. He's a fastball pitcher and I think that teams are going to get the hang of his stuff. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see his ERA jump between 3.5 and 4.0. He hasn't been sharp in spring training like he was last year either.

I agree, I am very nervous about him this year. However, there has been talk that he's just trying to work a lot of his secondary stuff and that is causing him to stuggle.
Either way, he is making me nervous and hopefully he can get to the point he was last year. If he fails to do so, I believe League, Lowe, or White all have the potential to be a solid closer if given the chance.

I feel the some way except that I can't quite quantify why. I know this, breakout closers are usually 1 and done. It's seems like there area few guys that can be successful for many years like Rivera and Hoffman, and everyone else struggles to put together two consecutive good, healthy years. The shelf life on closers is just so small that predicting him to struggle or even get injured is hardly risky.

Aardsma was a guy I was really hoping the team would trade this offseason while his value was somewhat high. I think Lowe would have more success in the long run, and am worried about Aardsma getting hit hard this season.

It still might happen with a A-Gonz trade... That guy can hit so well! I'd say throw Aardsma, Beltre and a good minor leaguer for him and see if they take it. If not, think it over and mess with it a bit and try again.
