Sounds like we got a new back up shortstop. Hoping that is the end of the Donkey days.
I like this trade. Robinson had potential, but was essentially a 4th outfielder and probably won't have the pop we need out there. Andino is a useful utility player.

He hit .211 last year, so he certainly wasn't coming here because he was a good bat, but he does have a pretty good fielding record.
I personally liked Trayvon Robinson, so I'm not really stoked on this trade.

Robinson was out of options though, so we would have had to put him on the 25 man roster or released him for nothing. Couldn't send him down to AAA, unless we re-signed him to a minor league deal. He had potential, speed, and was a highlight reel fielder but he also had contact issues. We need power out there. We have Thames, Wells, Saunders, Guti, and 1/2 of Carp (when not playing 1st) and are apparently planning to bring in a veteran outfielder. I liked Trayvon too, but we didn't have a spot for him and I'm glad we were able to get something for him. Andino is not a world beater and probably would have been set free by the Orioles as well who are conversely probably happy they got something for him. We need a backup shortstop with Muni gone.

We have enough 4th outfielders. We don't have a backup shortstop without Kawasaki gone. Andino is a decent-at-best backup shortstop for a decent-at-best 4th outfielder. Works for me.

Trayvon was a highlight reel fielder because he had to make up with enthusiasm for what he lacked in range. : )
I like the kid, but I think all four parties are slightly better off with this trade.

I liked the dude. I was hoping he could hit for some power and average, but I don't think he had a very high potential. Good for both sides in the long run.

We sure are stocked with 4th outfielders... I just hope we trade the good one. Liked the guy, I admit I'd prefer Peguero be traded first, but we know that we couldn't (shouldn't) keep everybody. It's all on Wells shoulders to prove this was Robinson that have to be traded.
About the attitude and behavior, Thames is I think quite as good as Robinson.

Well Pegeuro probably has zero trade value at this point. I like Robinson too, and would have liked to have him as an extra outfielder , but it sounds like the guy we got for him has put up similar stats, so I'm fine with it (unless of course Robinson turns out to be great).
