the Mariners are at least weighing a four-year, $100 million proposal, sources said.

Best quote of the day:

one source described the two sides as “dancing”

Why did a picture of Jack Z and Felix doing the salsa in his office just pop into my head?

Why are the Ms offering anything less then 8 yrs and 200 mil?

8 years is a lot for a pitcher, if you look at the track record of huge contracts with big time pitchers it's not great. Now, if we did give him a huge contract like that I wouldn't be outraged or anything, but if I'm the Mariners I'm probably not going over 4-5 unless he absolutely refuses to stay for less.

I think they end up somewhere around 5 years with maybe slightly less A/V. Maybe 5 years $120 million. Lock up Felix until he's 33. I'd be pretty stoked.

Remember that the number of years being discussed is the length of the extension, so the 4/100 plan is in addition to the 2/40 he has left on his current contract, so that's really 6/140. I'd love a 5/120 extension.

Basically, I want Felix in teal and blue until he dies of extreme old age.

Good point about being added to current 2/40
