The Mariners and Orioles square off in Baltimore in a battle of underachieving teams so far this season. The Mariners, 12-19 overall, are coming off a horrible 1-8 homestand and their offensive struggles have been obvious all season. The Orioles return home after a 2-5 road trip although they did manage a solid split at Target Field against a good Twins team. Baltimore has played better since their terrible start, but still hold the worst record in the AL at 9-23.

Back in April, Seattle managed to sweep Baltimore in a three game set at Safeco Field with a total score of 15-4. The O's will be looking for some revenge, but unfortuantely draw the two aces of the Mariners staff, in Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee. The M's however, have struggled on the road mightily this season with a 4-11 record and will try to right the ship in Baltimore.

Probable Pitchers:

Cliff Lee, LHP (0-1, 2.40) vs. David Hernandez, RHP (0-4, 5.74)
Ryan Rowland-Smith, LHP (0-2, 6.21) vs. Brad Bergesen, RHP (2-2, 7.36)
Felix Hernandez, RHP (2-3, 4.30) vs. Kevin Millwood, RHP (0-4, 3.26)

What are your feelings on this upcoming series? Can we carry the momentum of the final game of the homestand and sweep the Orioles like we did at home earlier this season?

Guess nobody wants to talk about the O's series yet lol.

LOL! I thought about it! I stared at that breakdown for about 3 minutes going, "well, I could talk about the pitching... No, best not to bring up Felix... Maybe I could talk about the O's crappy hitting... No, that'd be embarrassingly ironical..."

How about this: I'll settle for not getting swept!

Missed it folks. Anything I should be filled in on during the game? Who had the MVP bat?

I rewatched it and I would give Saunders the MVP bat of the game.

Yeah Saunders had another two hits plus an RBI. He is catching up to the inside fastball this season. Robo "passball" Johnson had a great game with a clutch two-out two rbi single and added another hit earlier. Josh Wilson continues to have nice AB's. I hope these guys can keep this going. All we need is 4 to 5 runs per game to win with out pitching.

Quote of the series from Brandon League:

"I come in with a nice lead, give up solo home run and then a grand slam," League said quietly. "It can't get much worse than that. That's pretty bad."

Lol! Yeah, you don't get much worse than that. That was Ayala territory.
