This team just keeps finding ways to lose games night in and night out. We have way to much talent to be playing like this. I don't know if their confidence is just shot now from all the bad luck/horrible start, but it's getting worse and worse every series.
I can't believe how many games we have lost on the road this year in the opposing team's final at bat, but it's getting old as crap and I'm sure the player's are tired and devastated from it as well.
I just don't know how we can recover from this...

Yeah, we can't. Lee is gone for sure after another one of those. Can't blame him. I don't know that we'll trade him though. I'm fairly sure we hold on to him and let him walk and take the draft picks (two first rounders) unless we get bowled over with some package, and I don't really see that happening for half a season of him when he would undoubtedly hit the FA market. The fact is that as much as this team sucks offensively, and suddenly in the pen, we don't really have the talent in the minor leagues to pick up enough offense to really make a difference this year (my opinion). There are a few guys out there that would help, but as Igoe4Mariners said- they keep finding ways to lose games- it's way, way bigger than a bat. Not that we don't need it, I'm just saying that I've basically resigned myself to another non-playoff year. The thing that really bites is that this was the year. This division could have been had, and I have to believe that Arte Moreno is definitely going to do something about his team. It'll be interesting to see what Jack Z can, and does do about ours. It sucks, but hey, I'm an M's fan, I'm not going to stop watching and cheering for them. I just picked up a coupon package for tickets. I'll show up and add to the booing that will hopefully lead us to a better team. Here's to a better rest of the year, next year, and seriously, the PR team has to do better than "Believe Big", or "A New Day, A New Way". Try to pick one that isn't painfully ironic if the team acts like the Mariners. Sheesh. SODO MOJO was kinda lame. I always thought "You Gotta Love These Guys!" was great because is eluded to the fact that they aren't very good, but come on! How can you not like Edgar and "The Guys"!? I had an idea the other day. It's a line yelled out by one of the announcers at the end of the movie "Dodgeball" that always makes me laugh: Seattle Mariners 2011- "Do You Believe In Unlikelihood!?!?"

Great post. Who knows, maybe we can go on a 10 game winnning streak coming up and get back into this thing. With our pitching being so awesome, our offense is bound to go on a little run where they put up five runs a game consistently and I don't see us losing. Wow, I need to stop being so optimistic...we are done.

Just remember, even if the ballteam sucks, they sure put out some great commercials.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1kesqDBXh0

Another "Dodgeball" quote that could be tied into the mariners season, Vince Vaughn says "I have found that if you have a goal, you may not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed."

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times wrote a good article about this very situation...

The M's had a lot of things go right last year so we're probably due for some bad luck. I didn't think we would be this far under .500 (or under .500 at all) but it's not shocking that our lack of offense has got us here. We need a big bat in a hurry if we want any chance of taking the division, which is still not that far out of reach.
