Both threw successful simulated games on Wednesday and will look to be returning to the rotation. Fister will most likely make his first start back against the Cubs taking French's spot while Bedard still has to go on a rehab stint to get his arm back where it should be. Bedard, without an setbacks, should be back around the first week in July.

That would make our rotation like this:

1. Cliff Lee
2. Felix Hernandez
3. Erik Bedard
4. Doug Fister
5. Jason Vargas

^That is the best rotation in baseball right there folks. Too bad we won't have Cliff Lee for much longer and we don't have an offense to back it up.

Baseball is definitely taking its toll on me. I had a dream last night that Fister got lit up like a rocket with 6 ER in 1 inning. I hope my dream doesn't come true.

great rotation? no doubt.

best rotation? hmm

i think that it is hard to ignore the giants and the cardinals pitching staffs so far this year.

Lince + Cain + Zito all have been known to be great and are pitching great this year

PLUS sanchez (2.78 era, better than cliff) and wellemeyer (can be great, can be bad. 7/12 games only given up 2 or less runs)

thats one of the 2 best rotations as of now i think.

with the cards as the other

carp+wain+penny basically same reason as giants. all have been known to be great and are pitching great this year

Jaime Garcia (1.59 era, 2nd only to the almighty ubaldo) is pitching incredibly well for a rookie

there 5th starter has been sort of a pitch by committee but they have without a doubt one of the best 2 rotations.

honorable mentions obviously have to be the yanks unfortunately. i hate to be cliche but the red sox staff has the potential to be dominate, the marlins have a solid few to add on, and i have to mention the braves once jair comes back and kamakazi is put in the pen.

once the Ms all get to where they should be then no doubt they will be in the best rotation convo but the fact of the matter is felix hasnt been the same since he got paid, cliff will be gone come august, bedard will hopefully be great but you never know coming off injury, fister although he has the best name in baseball he has been overachieving mad most likely to cover up for felix but you have to give fister the credit he is due. and the same goes for vargas.

definitely top 3/4/5 rotation once everyone gets to where they need to be and its a shame that it will not get a chance to pitch in the playoffs.
