Mariners top pitching prospect Michael Pineda pitched a 1 hit 6 inning shutout last night in his first AAA start in Tacoma. The 6-foot-5, 243-pounder threw 90 pitches and was hitting up to 97 mph with his fastball.

Feeling a little better about losing Lee... Not happy about it, but Pineda is helping to ease the pain. Mix in a better off speed pitch and how about having another Felix? (That's a huge stretch, but here's to wishful thinking!)

Yeah. if he keeps pitching at this pace, we will see him up here in September.
At 6'5", 243, you know opposing hitters have to be shaking in their shoes going up to the plate. What an intimidating force on the mound.

Great to see, hopefully he will continue to develop against these better hitters.

Nice to have something to get excited about. Especially for a Tacoma team that isn't exactly exciting, lol. With all the AA players moving up, or at least players like Liddi, Ackley, Triunfel, Robles, etc., Tacoma's going to be fun to watch next year.

Do you know how much tickets are to cheney stadium? I've always wanted to go see some games but don't know the price. I'm in a good location for both, between Seattle and Tacoma.

Just was reading about Mitch Canham, tough life it looks like. Mother died and brother died in service? Is he taking that all well?

He's taking it the best that he can...real good dood, though. One of the most genuine people I know.
