I haven't heard one thing about this possibility being planned and I don't like it. We really need to have a day dedicated to Griffey before this season is over, retire his number, and send him off the proper way.

The way he went out earlier this year was not good at all and no first ballot hall-of-famer should ever have to go out like that. Get this man back to Seattle after the All-Star break and lets celebrate his career with a packed house in the stadium he built.

What do you guys think? Why haven't we heard anything about a Griffey ceremony and do you think there will be one before the season is over?

I see it this way. A Griffey day would be a definite sellout at the Safe. There's no way that the Mariners pass up on that opportunity.

Didn't we already have our "farewell, Junior, and thanks for everything!" ceremony on 10/04/09?

Yeah, until he came back another year...and that wasn't an official send off anyways since it wasn't for sure whether he was retiring or not.
