Multiple sources on twitter reporting (Jon Morosi, Rotoworld, TNT). Apparently it's for cash only. Commence "City of Brotherly Love"/Hug jokes:

the Mariners have traded Mike Sweeney to the Phillies for a player to be named later and cash
Ok, so maybe we're getting a PTBNL too.

#Mariners trade Mike Sweeney to Philadelphia for player to be named later or cash considerations.
Ok, well, maybe it's either/or.... Whatever.

I really, really liked Mike Sweeney. Everybody loved him in the clubhouse, and he just seemed to have this constantly positive attitude that really brightened things up. But, there was no place for him here. By getting anything for him, we've won the trade. But I'm still sad to see him go. Goodbye Mike.

Couldn't have said it better TITTDA. That was exactly how I felt. I hope he does well and finishes his career with a WS ring.

I liked Sweeney as a person (aside from the always effusive religious undertones that I always think are more silly than annoying), but as a ball player he drove me crazy. He put some good wood on the ball, but seriously swung at everything. He was great to the fans, and great to the media. Always open and honest and just wanted to win. I'll officially be rooting for Philly in the NL if they make the playoffs because guys like him deserve it. He's never played a single playoff game. I'll miss his "trying out the shocks on my motorcycle" batting stance. Also, for some reason I always giggle inside a little whenever I see "Sween-dog". Great nickname.

"trying out the shocks on my motorcycle" batting stance Epic man, epic. Now every time I see him come to the plate that is what I'm going to think of.

Turns out, the Mariners didn't receive a player from the Phillies. Instead, that deal wound up being a cash payment to Seattle.

Does the cash amount ever get released to the public, or is that part strictly business?

I'm pretty sure I've seen amounts of cash released to the public in a lot of trades like this. Guess this one is under wraps though.
