He fits for this year, but this year only, and we don't have the salary unless we were to trade Figgins. If we'd trade Figgins to acquire Young, I'd much rather just keep Figgins. So I guess in a round about way, I agree!

Edit: Looks like Seattle is not on Young's trade list anyways.

exactly, sure in a vacuum, Young fits for the Mariners, they need offense. In the real world, what it would take to acquire/accommodate such a move, would be pointless and wasteful. (and probably not make us any better.)

He might not fit with us, but I sure as hell hope he is traded off somewhere; the dude is the scariest hitter in the AL West IMO.

For a guy who is "team player"...he sure demands trades alot from a team that gave him an insane payday.

By My count...this is the 3rd time in 3 years that he has publically demanded a trade.

Kinda funny...Chone Figgins has been moved 2 times in a year and a 1/4 and keeps telling the press he wants to be in Seattle.
Young has been demanding almost every offseason to be trade after being gifted with $16 million/year....and only being moved because other players can play defense twice as good as he can.

When a team has a plan for you to Get 700 plate at-bats (1/2 DH and 1/2 at 3 positions) AND pay you $16 million a year for 3 years for a team that is trying to compete for the playoffs....there is little to complain about.....

Team Guy...professional player?

Just because a Franchise uses your face for promotions for a couple years...doesnt mean you get to tell the front office on how to improve the team.

Normally I dont care how much a player makes....but when you make in the top 3% and then want to dump on that team for trying to win....thats wrong
