View Full Version : Did MLB make a mistake by giving homefield advantage in WS to ASG winner?

This is the first game seven since MLB invoked the All-Star Game rule where the winner gets homefield advantage. The Rangers were clearly the better team throughout the season and honestly deserved to get game seven at home. As much as I like MLB trying to be different by making this rule back in 2003 to draw more interest to the ASG, I think it was a mistake and influences the World Series heavily.

I think Wild Card teams shouldn't get the advantage but i like it for division winners because it makes the All Star Game matter unlike the NFL one which is a joke.

I like the rule. I think it's fair to make the game worth something, and I think it's the perfect perk. Just my opinion.

It doesn't really bother me.
I can't sit here and say Texas would have won the series if they were playing at home, because they basically won the series playing on the road. It took a once in a lifetime come back for them to lose, and that is why baseball is awesome. You don't know and can't predict what is going to happen, no matter how "inside" you are, or how much you know, it's all played out before us.
So happy the Cards won.

I'm on the fence about this.
On one hand it does make the All Star Game matter to the players and makes it more interesting to the fans but on the other hand home field advantage should be given to the team that had the better season.
