Wink Should the M's resign Mike Sweeney?

There was nothing more fun than watching Griffey and Sweeney having alot of fun around the ball club last year. I am one who REALLY wants to see the Mariners go into the post season this year, but I really think that Mike Sweeney could add alot to this ball club. He hit .281 last year with 8 homeruns. One of the biggest things I hear about the guy is "oh, he has back problems". Well yeah, he has back problems. At the same time though, Griffey has knee problems and Branyan has back problems and nobody seems to talk about their injuries. Let's compare some simple Sweeney/Griffey stats here:

Sweeney: .281 batting average with .442 slg and 8 homeruns.
Griffey: .214 batting average with .411 slg with 19 homeruns.

Out of those two, which would you pick to go on your team as DA?

The answer I would pick is Sweeney. I guess it goes to show how politics plays a role around the clubhouse as far as signing.

only one could stay why not Griffey. 25th men are hard to come by. Its hard to believe but he wont be a starter. To many other players that are ready and will do better then him. But his leadership is all good!
