Default Do you have a National League Team?

I've been a huge baseball fan since the mid 80s and even a casual fan since before then, mostly because of my Mariners. For years I looked for a NL team to root for because I felt there was so much baseball I was missing out on. There were a few teams that I liked some but could never get one to 'stick'. Then on August 19, 2006 I was working in my flower garden and listening to the pregame show on the radio when I hear the announcement that Jamie Moyer was traded to Philadelphia. "What, I didn't even know the Mariners were shopping him", I said to no one. I told myself I would still follow him and root for him in his starts. Very shortly after that I learned that a lady I worked with son was drafted my the Phillies and was working his way up through the farm system (Kyle Kendrick, who I later got to meet). Then it hit me, I'm going to be rooting for these palyers then I must be a Phillies fan. Finally an NL tea to root for. Interesting that Raul was my favorite Mariner during his time here and he ended up going there as well. Strange that I root for the Mariners my entire life and they never sniff the WS, and the Phillies have made it 2 of the 4 years I've been following them. That just means that were due to rattle off 3 or 3 right?

    What about you?

I have always kind of pulled for the D-Backs. Not sure why. It's not like I'm a diehard or anything. I guess they are just my favorite NL team.

I HATE the Braves, but that is because they are the local team around where I live and I hear too much about how great they are. Although I do respect the heck out of Chipper Jones.

I don't know why but ever since the nationals have been so horrible, I always feel like I gotta root for that team. Now that Jim Riggleman and John McLaren are part of that team, it makes me really wanna follow them.

I've always felt that McLaren got the hot seat because of a crappy job of Bill Bavisi. I really don't believe any of it was McLaren's fault. It will be interesting to see how the Nationals do this year under the old M's leadership.

I follow the Pittsburgh Pirates. In every sport I follow, I pick a team from each conference, or league. I started watching baseball in 1993 but was a card collector as a child and asked for and received a sports almanac for Christmas when I was 13. After reading some stats in the almanac, then getting a book on him from the public library, I began my fascination with my favorite player- Roberto Clemente. He's the reason I root for the Pirates. I hate their ownership. Worst owners in baseball. BY A MILE.
The great thing about being a Pirates fan and a M's fan is getting to root for former players both ways. The terrible things are that not only are they the Pirates and Mariners and all that goes along with that (most notably constant disappointment), but that the players are Wilson, Snell, Cedeno, and Clement. Also it makes it hard to root for the speculation of picking up Ryan Doumit.

There 3 types of baseball teams to me- they all fall into one of 3 categories: I like them, I hate them, or I'm indifferent
Like: M's, Pirates, Twins, Phillies, Red Sox, Brewers
Hate: Yanks, Angels, Rangers, Braves, White Sox, Orioles
    Indifferent: The rest.
I used to say that my 2 favorite teams were the Mariners and whoever was playing the Yankees. I've softened that a bit... But not much.

I can't stand the Yankees nor the Red Sox. I guess when they play each other I pull for the Sox, but not by much. However, I will admit, it is truly fun to watch the two teams play. You get to see the great atmospheres at Fenway and Yankee Stadium, something that doesn't really happen at Safeco unless it is a playoff game and we all know how rare those are.
