Default This Year's Breakout Players for the M's

I'm going to do a pitcher and hitter.

Pitcher: Ian Snell-I really think this guy can be something special if he has his head on straight. Griffey, Sweeney, and Wak are all good mentors for this guy and it seems he is turning his attitude around. He has the makings of a very good pitcher, he just has to learn how to pitch. He did well after the trade from the Pirates and I expect him to improve a lot more this year.

    Prediction: 15-8 record, with a 3.85 ERA

Hitter: Franklin Gutierrez-This guy was solid last year and I personally think he is going to get even better. Everyone knows what he can do on defense, but I think he can still improve with the bat. He added 10-15 pounds of muscle in the offseason and I think that will help with his overall power. Look for a big year from Gut.

    Prediction: .310 AVG, 24 HRs, 90 RBI's

I think RRS will finally put it all together this year. While I don't think his stuff will wow us, I think he will put together a solid year, and become a really good middle-of-the-rotation arm.

For hitters, there are a few good choices on this team, but I think Kotchman has a chance to surprise. I don't think he will show great power but i think he could hit for a decent average in the .290 range.
