Mike Sweeney has done absolutely nothing to garner being on that list.

rofl. Sweeney? Well the only thing Sweeney did to tick me off was when he stood up and said anyone fight me if you said Griffey was sleeping. All the biggest whiners are on the Mariners phred?

About to bump Figgins the JA up another notch.

    From Shannon Drayer's blog:

...this is not the first time Figgins has bristled at being taken out of a game. When Wak pinch hit Ken Griffey Jr for Figgins on April 10 when the team was down 3-2 with one out and runners on, he again voiced his displeasure in the clubhouse despite the fact that Junior hit a game-tying single and the team won.

When he was moved to ninth in the batting order again he was defiant and seemed to take the move personally despite the fact that it was stressed to him the move was about trying to get Milton Bradley's bat going. Three moves by the manger, three voicings of his displeasure.

I get that he comes to play. I get that he wants to win and feels that he does everything in his power to help the team do that but at some point it has to be more about something other than himself. Two of his complaints have come after wins. If it is about team that is definitely not the time to be griping. Enjoy the win, they have been tough to come by.

Also, targeting Wak just doesn't feel right. Just two nights before he was benched Wak was ejected from a game standing up for him. In fact two of Wak's ejections this year have been defending Figgins. He clearly has his back and for some reason Figgins will not reciprocate.

Biggest babies of the decade? I gotta go

Milton Bradley (sorry Milton! I love ya, but you're emotionally retarded)
    Delmon Young
    Prince Fielder
Albert Belle (makes it in the decade by 3 months)
    Carlos Zambrano
    Elijah Dukes

ARod for me makes a different list- Biggest total douche bags:

    Alex Rodriguez
    A.J. Pierziynski
    Roger Clemens
    Carl Everett
    Armando Benitez
    Barry Bonds
    Pedro Martinez
    Josh Hamilton
    Manny Ramirez

Some of the names on both lists could be interchangable. I tried to keep it in the decade, and omitted guys that I hate for inexplicable reasons, or team affiliations: Derek Jeter, Alfonso Soriano etc.

I've got some names to add to that list, particularly Julio Mateo, Brett Myers, Dmitri Young, Jim Leyritz, and Frank Francisco.

Is A.J. Pierziynski really a douche bag or just misunderstood with a very wacky personality? I've heard both.

I do not object to ANY of those. My favorite Leyritz memory was during the 1995 playoff series against the Yankees. I can't remember if this happened during the playoffs or if it was bad blood early the next season, but Randy Johnson plunked him and his first reaction is to get pissed and walk toward the mound like he's going to lay down some smack. He immediately realizes that it's Randy Johnson, who's standing there with his hands out like, "Dude, if you can make it out here, I'll gladly go Ryan/Ventura on your ass!"- You could see him hesitate, and even though he tried to act tough, it was a slow approach to make sure the benches cleared before he got his ass kicked. He looked legitimately frightened, like he just realized his ass couldn't cash this check. Hilarious.
